Papertrey Ink Stitched Love birthday card

Blog-hop-logo

Hello everyone,

Its the day for the Papertrey Ink Blog Hop and this time Nichole gave us some embroidery inspiration.
April-Blog-Hop-Inspiration

Now I have never been very good with a needle but I decided to try and rise to the challenge and have a go with a real needle and thread, as well as some stamped stitches. I used the PTI Stitched Sentiments stamps and the accompanying embroidery hoop and banner dies.

I started by stitching the border on a panel of card, and then added a strip of Spring Moss card. The white card looked a bit stark and in need of some texture, so I used an Impression Obsession background stamp, and embossed it with clear embossing powder. I then cut the embroidery hoop in white and red, and stamped the hoop with Kraft ink, and the top screw part with silver embossing powder to give a metal effect. The red circle was stamped and embossed in white, and inserted into the hoop. The banner was cut in spring moss and backed with another banner cut from stripey red paper, before having the sentiment stamped and embossed in white. This was all matted onto pure poppy card and then onto the base card. This picture doesn't show the texture very well, but you can see it a little better on this one.

I was quite pleased with how the screw part looks - so cute!

I'd like to play along with

the challenge over at Addicted to Stamping
Addicted to Stamps and More!
which this time is Make Your Mark, and I hope that making my mark with a needle and thread counts.
